Walt Davis started the family firm Davis Fabricators, Inc. Walt began his career as a fabricator and honed his craft while working for another fabrication firm. Following the closure of that company, Walt made the decision to go it alone using his skills and knowledge. He founded Davis Fabricators in 1982 and eventually incorporated the company in 1984.

Walt first leased space from a nearby machine shop before buying the structure to use as the Davis headquarters. Walt was well-known in Northwest Ohio for being a high-quality fabricator who could solve practically any issue. His firm expanded swiftly, and in order to fulfill project requests, he employed other skilled fabricators.

Since its establishment, Davis Fabricators has stayed in the same location.
