Littlestown Hardware and Foundry Company, Inc. was founded by Luther D. Snyder and Emory H. Snyder as a gray iron foundry employing sixteen workers and specializing in the production, machining, painting, and plating of iron castings. During World War I, the company contributed to the war effort by manufacturing castings for bearings and shafts used in military applications. Over the years, the company expanded its product offerings to include a variety of hardware products such as bench vises, flanges, hammers, bookends, fireplace tools, and doorstops, alongside a broad range of commercial castings. Today, with a workforce of approximately 70 employees, the company has evolved into a leading producer of commercial aluminum castings, with more than 95% of its business focused on aluminum casting solutions for diverse industrial applications.
