Criterion was first established in 1953 as a general machine business by Mike Ondercin. The company is now a female-owned, non-union precision machine shop that aims for excellence in machining for the "No Failure" industries of medical devices, aerospace, defense, and photonics, thanks to third-generation owner Tanya DiSalvo. Criterion specializes in 5-Axis CNC Milling, CNC Turning, and Swiss Turning with close tolerance (+/-.0002). Criterion has an integrated Job Shop Control System and a certified Quality Assurance program that uses a Global Advantage CMM with PC-DIMS software to support manufacturing.
